The Phi Beta Kappa records consist of material from the Alpha chapter covering the period 1927-1976. It includes general correspondence, chapter minutes, nomination and acceptance letters, correspondence with National headquarters, and chapter material such as rituals, initiation books, regulations, and by-laws. Of particular interest are the files dealing with the foundation of the Alpha chapter in Lexington and the secretary's files concerning the selection and approval of other chapters. There are also photographs and newspaper clippings. The chapter's photograph album is wrapped separately.
